My name is Jo Williams and I am an equine artist of many different styles. I try to make my artwork pieces reflect the inner beauty, grace and power of the spiritual horse. whether it be in flowing abstracts, realistic paintings or pencil work right through to fantasy artwork of unicorns and goddesses.
I am a unique equine artist in so much as I can capture the realistic essence of horses in my pencil drawings, paintings and portraits and yet I show have a unusual talent in sensing and seeing the aura and spirit of the horse.
I am also natural hands on healer and can sense a person’s or animals energy field. This is often called an aura, and it is a colourful energy field that surrounds all living things. This field is what I pick up on when I am painting my abstract spiritual pieces. (Gallery added 10/21/09)

Though crayons and paper were always the best gift as a child, an eighth grade art teacher awakened the drive to become an artist that has never diminished. A degree from Transylvania University and workshops with Sam Savitt, John Seerey-Lester, Scott Christensen among others have continued her education. Yvonne’s passion for animals has led to numerous exhibits including the Master of Foxhounds Centennial Travelling Exhibit. She was selected as a Top 100 artist in the prestigious Arts for the Parks competition in Jackson Hole as well as national juried exhibits The Kentucky National Art and Wildlife Exhibit where she garnered a purchase award and the NOAPS Best of America 2003. Her painting “The Start”, now in the Ashland, Inc. collection, was selected for the 2002 Ashland Stake print. Her paintings have been featured on the covers of The Thoroughbred Record and the Chronicle of the Horse and her illustrations have appeared in many national magazines including Wildlife Art as well as the catalogues for the blockbuster exhibits at the Kentucky Horse Park Imperial China: The Horse in Chinese History and All the Queen’s Horses: The Role of the Horse in British History. She continues to paint portraits of various animals on commission. (Gallery added 9/20/09)
